Benelli has launched the Imperiale 400 in India, priced at Rs 1.69 lakh, ex-showroom. The classic motorcycle according to Benelli, is a reinterpretation of the historic MotoBi range produced in the 1950s.
Features such as the round headlight, two-pod analog instrument console, the fuel tank, and the spring-assisted rider seat add to the retro design theme. Only the fuel tank comes in 3 different colors – Black, Red, and Silver.
As the name suggests, the Imperiale 400 is powered by a 374 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, producing 21 hp at 5,500 rpm and 29 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm, paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
Suspension duties are handled by a 41 mm telescopic fork at the front and twin shocks at the rear; the latter gets pre-load adjustability. As for braking, the single discs measure 300 mm at the front and 240 mm at the rear; ABS is standard.
