Bollinger reveals four-door B1 and B2 electric trucks

Remember the Bollinger B1 electric truck we saw in 2017? Well, the startup has now revealed the four-door version of the B1 and the four-door B2 pickup truck as well. Bollinger calls these as “beta prototypes”.

Both trucks have the same military-style boxy design of the original two-door B1, with pass-through loading spaces and flip-down rear cabin wall. Bollinger says that the windshield, glass, doors, and the roof panels are removable. Buyers can opt for all-glass roof panels as we can see in the pictures here.

The four-door B1 measures 171.5-inches (4,356 mm) in length, 89.0-inches (2,260 mm) in width (with mirrors) and 72.7-inches (1,846 mm) in height. Wheelbase measures 118.8-inches (3,017 mm) and ground clearance is at 15-inches (381 mm). The B2 pickup truck on the other side measures 207.5-inches (5,270 mm) in length with a wheelbase of 139-inches (3,530 mm), while the other numbers are the same as the four-door B1. Both trucks boast 10-inches of wheel travel, with 10- to 20-inches of Variable Ground Clearance, apparently.

Features inside include air conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, six 110-volt outlets, and the optional heated seats. The four-door B1 boasts 113 cu.ft. (3,200 litres) of total cargo capacity with rear seats removed and including frunk, while the B2 pickup truck’s bed measures 4’ 1” (1,249 mm) in width and 5’9” (1,798 mm) in length (8’2” with cab wall open, rear seats removed).

Both trucks also boast 5,001 lb (2,268 kg) payload and 7,500 lb (3,402 kg) towing capacity. As for curb weights, the four-door B1 weighs 4,800 lb (2,177 kg) while the B2 pickup truck weighs 5,000 lb (2,268 kg). Weight distribution is 45/55.

Both trucks get two motors, one at each axle, producing a total of 614 hp and 668 lb-ft (906 Nm) of torque. Bollinger claims a 0 – 60 mph (96.5 km/h) time of 4.5 seconds while the top speed is 100 mph (161 km/h). The trucks feature a two-speed transfer case with Hi/Lo ranges.

The 120 kWh battery pack is claimed to offer a range of up to 200 miles (322 km) as per EPA. The battery is capable of DC fast charging.
