The slowdown in the Indian auto sector has continued in the month of August 2019. The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki (MSIL) sold a total of 106,413 vehicles in August 2019 registering a negative growth of 32.7 percent. The company sold 158,189 vehicles in the same period last year.
In the domestic market, MSIL sold 94,728 units as against 147,700 units of the same period last year, registering a negative growth of nearly 36 percent. Exports too dropped by 10.8 percent. The new WagonR was launched in January 2019, and the XL6 was launched in August 2019.
