There’s no fun in keeping a sports car completely stock; people at least change the wheels, get an aftermarket exhaust, or maybe even a full body wrap in a color that is not offered from the factory. Understandably, some people want a lot more than that and so is Wade Kawasaki, an aftermarket industry businessman and SEMA Board Member.
And so, he went to Roush Performance for a custom Stage 3 Mustang with the iconic Gulf Racing livery. Stage 3 is the highest level Roush offers for the Mustang. The car features a Roush TVS R2650 Supercharger along with a Roush Cold Air Intake to boost the 5.0-litre Ti-VCT V8 engine’s output to 710 hp and 610 lb-ft (827 Nm) of torque.
The Mustang is also equipped with the optional Roush Active Exhaust System, which offers four different user-selectable exhaust modes. Other upgrades include a custom Sikky handbrake designed for drifting.
The Stage 3 Mustang’s Sport Interior Package has been upgraded with color-matched orange accents and a unique Roush plaque.
Further bespoke pieces include custom carbon fibre side vents and outside mirrors manufactured by SpeedKore as well as a carbon fibre Roush Chin Spoiler, a carbon fibre Roush Rear Spoiler, and a complete Roush R8 Aero Body Kit.
Rounding off the looks are a set of one-off 20 x 8.5-inch and 20 x 11-inch forged aluminum wheels by Wheel Vintiques, designed as a modern interpretation of the original Ford GT40, shod with 245/35 and 285/35 performance tires.
