Cadillac has added two more sedans to its V-Series performance sub-brand. The first-ever CT4-V (Blue one in the photos) and CT5-V (Orange) share standard technologies and are available either as RWD or AWD variants.

The CT4-V is powered by a 2.7-litre turbocharged petrol engine that offers 320 hp (239 kW) at 5,600 rpm and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque at 1,800 rpm. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via 10-speed automatic transmission as standard, while the AWD system is also available.

Other features include limited-slip rear differential, drive modes that include a new V-Mode personalization, 18-inch wheels and summer-only performance tires (all-season tires available with AWD); and the optional Super Cruise technology.

The CT5-V is, of course, a performance variant of the first-ever CT5 that we saw in April this year. It gets dark exterior accents and V-Series mesh grilles; 19-inch wheels, unique rear diffuser and quad exhaust tips.

A 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine powers the CT5-V, tuned to produce 355 hp (265 kW) at 5,600 rpm and 542 Nm (400 lb-ft) of torque between 2,400-4,400 rpm. Here too, the power is sent to the rear wheels as standard via 10-speed automatic transmission, while the AWD is optional.

The CT5-V gets electronic limited-slip rear differential, Performance Traction Management, customizable V-Mode, and the optional Super Cruise technology as well.

Both CT4-V and CT5-V get Magnetic Ride Control 4.0, which according to Cadillac, is tuned specifically for V models to enhance comfort without sacrificing performance-oriented responsiveness. However, the CT4-V AWD models get ZF passive dampers. Brembo front brakes are standard on both models.

The CT4-V also claims to have a near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution for an exceptional feeling of balance and control.

The CT4-V and CT5-V will go on sale early in the 2020 calendar year, with production at GM’s Lansing Grand River facility in Michigan.
