Remember the time when you decided to leave your Aventador SVJ behind and take an SUV for a spin instead? And how you were extremely upset that you could’ve reached your destination a bit more faster? Yea, I don’t either. But, if you ever face such a situation, Bentley has a solution.
The Bentley Bentayga Speed is apparently the world’s fastest production SUV. The 6.0-litre W12 twin-turbo motor now produces 626 bhp (+26) and 900 Nm of torque, which can propel the 2.4+ tons of opulence from 0 – 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 306 km/h.
As we can see in the pictures, there are some minor modifications to the body as well. These include dark-tinted headlamps, radiator and bumper grilles, body-colored side skirts and a rather tacky-looking tailgate spoiler. Rounding off the looks are obligatory Speed badges and 22-inch wheels – available in three finishes.
As always, the interiors of the Bentayga looks elegant. The Bentayga Speed gets a new contrast stitching, diamond quilting, Speed illuminated treadplate signature, and Alcantara materials for the first time in a Bentayga. Also, notice the optional carbon fibre trim elements.
As with all Bentaygas, the Speed is equipped with Electronic Differential Lock and up to 8 Drive modes. Bentley said that the Sport mode has received some revisions for a more dynamic drive, while a greater exhaust character and firmer suspension tune further increase driver engagement.
As always, the customers get a big list of options, including carbon ceramic brakes, 22-way adjustable front seats with massage function, Bentley rear-seat entertainment (RSE) and mood lighting. The Bentayga Speed’s ceramic brakes are claimed to be the largest and most powerful ever fitted to a Bentley, with a maximum braking torque of 6,000 Nm and engineered to withstand temperatures up to 1,000°C. They also save more than 20 kg over iron brakes, apparently.
