Mahindra has launched the much-awaited XUV300 at Rs 7.90 lakh ex-showroom, Pan India. Variant-wise ex-showroom prices below –

As you might know already, the XUV300 is based on SsangYong Tivoli, and the chassis and suspension have been re-tuned for Indian conditions. The sub-4 m crossover boasts more features than its direct competitors and includes several segment-first features. Exterior features include projector headlamps with LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, ORVM-integrated LED turn signals, and 17-inch Diamond-cut alloy wheels.
The smartly laid-out interiors get a dual-tone dashboard, piano black accents, dual-zone climate control, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay connectivity, 4 speakers & 2 tweeters, 2 USB ports, electric sunroof with anti-pinch, electrically adjustable & foldable ORVMs, auto-dimming IRVM, height-adjustable driver seat, height-adjustable front seat belts, cruise control, electric tailgate release, and rear camera with guidelines.
Mahindra has also added something called Smart Steering System with 3 modes (Normal, Comfort and Sport) to suit the driver’s style.
Safety
Mahindra said that the XUV300 uses 68% high-strength steel. Safety kit includes a total of 7 airbags (2 standard), ABS with EBD, Corner Braking Control, ESP with roll-over mitigation, front & rear fog lamps, front seat belt pretensioner & load limiter, panic braking signal, front & rear parking sensors, heated ORVMs, anti-pinch driver window, 2nd-row seat belt reminder, and rear defogger. Powertrain
Powering the XUV300 is a choice of petrol and diesel engines, developed at Mahindra Research Valley. The petrol is a 1,197 cc turbocharged 4-cylinder unit, developing 81 kW (110 metric hp) at 5,000 rpm and 200 Nm (147.5 lb-ft) of torque from 2,000 to 3,500 rpm. On the diesel side, a 1,497 cc 4-cylinder turbocharged unit is employed, offering 85.8 kW (117 metric hp) at 3,750 rpm and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque from 1,500 to 2,500 rpm.
Both engines are paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. At the launch event, Mahindra said that an automatic variant is in the works and will be offered at a later date.
Last but not the least, the crossover measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,821 mm in width and 1,627 mm in height. While the length is shorter than the SsangYong Tivoli, the XUV300 is wider and taller. Wheelbase measures 2,600 mm – same as the Tivoli. Fuel tank can hold 42 litres.
There are 8 colors to choose from, including dual-tone schemes. The colors include Pearl White, D Sat Silver, Red Race, Aquamarine, Sunburst Orange, Napoli Black, dual-tone Red Rage and dual-tone Aquamarine.
Mahindra is also planning an all-electric version sometime in 2020.
