Obstacles? “Such a thing does not exist”, laughed the G-Class Squared. With a ground clearance of 450 mm, it looked nothing less of a monster. The production ended in October last year.

But don’t worry, Brabus has a solution in case you missed the original. The Brabus 700 4×4² we’re seeing here in the pictures, starts life as a previous generation G63. The regular axles are replaced with portal axles and an electronically adjustable suspension, which together give the 700 4×4² a 60 cm or 600 mm of ground clearance. The settings can be changed by the driver to suit their taste with a Touch Control Panel in the cockpit. The height-adjustable struts are made from high-strength aluminum and allow individual adjustment of the ride height at the front and rear axle.

The driver can choose between 4 drive modes—Comfort, Sport, Off-Road and Individual—on the Touch Control Panel. The Individual mode allows adjusting the damper rate individually for each axle.

Robust skid plates, 22-inch wheels shod with Pirelli Scorpion ATR off-road tires, roof spoiler above the windshield with DRLs round off the looks.

As for the interiors, the Brabus 700 4×4² comes with a two-tone black/light brown leather theme. Any personalization requests can be fulfilled as well. Options include wood or carbon fibre trims, and power-retractable steps to make getting in and out easier.

Powering the Brabus Squared is a 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8, producing 515 kW (700 metric hp) at 5,300 rpm and 960 Nm of torque between 2,000 and 4,000 rpm. The original turbos are replaced with two Brabus special turbochargers with a larger compressor unit, which produces higher boost pressure. Transmission is an AMG Speedshift 7G-Tronic automatic. 0-100 km/h acceleration happens in 5.0 seconds and top speed is limited to 210 km/h.

In addition, Brabus has installed high-performance metal catalysts with 75 mm wide downpipes to reduce back pressure. Optionally, the SUV can also be ordered with a Brabus stainless sport exhaust with actively controlled flaps.
