Mercedes-Benz has launched the 3rd generation CLS in India, priced at Rs 84.70 lakh ex-showroom, Pan India. The car made its global debut almost a year ago.
The highlight of the new model is the ‘Sensual Purity’ design language which makes it appear more coupe-ish than ever before. The equipment list includes Multibeam LED headlamps, electric sliding sunroof and 18-inch alloy wheels on the exterior. The new CLS is available in a wide range of exterior paintwork including Graphite Grey, Ruby Black and Designo Selenite Grey Magno.
On the inside, you’ll find a 12.3-inch media display screen along with a digital cockpit with three selectable display styles – Classic, Sporty and Progressive – along with new generation telematics (NTG 5.5). Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are supported as well. Also included are a 13-speaker Burmester sound system and 64 color ambient lighting.
The new CLS in India is offered with a 1,950 cc in-line 4-cylinder turbo diesel OM654 engine, tuned to produce 180 kW (241 bhp) at 4,200 rpm and 500 Nm of torque between 1,600-2,400 rpm. A 9G-Tronic automatic sends power to the rear wheels. The car can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 6.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 250 km/h.
