Ford Fiesta ST-Line Red and Black Edition revealed

Indians have almost forgotten the Ford Fiesta, thanks to the success of models such as the Figo, Aspire and EcoSport. In markets elsewhere, the Fiesta is in its 7th generation and includes a sportier ST-Line.

Speaking of which, the ST-Line has now got even more sportier with the addition of Red and Black Editions. They come with contrasting colour schemes. The Red Edition comes with Race Red exterior finish and matte black stripes with edges in gloss black. It extends from the roof, though the bonnet to the lower front spoiler lip.

The Black Edition on the other side is finished in Panther Black exterior and matte black stripes highlighted with gloss-red edges. Both models feature an over-sized, body-coloured rear spoiler, Panther Black 17-inch alloy wheels with red rims, and black mirror caps bisected by a horizontal red stripe.

The interior continues the contrast colour theme. There are red accents on the partial leather sports seats, door pulls and on the central air vents. Red contrast stitching on the flat-bottom leather steering wheel, gear lever gaiter, handbrake lever, floor mats and on the door pads enhance the sporty looks.

Both models also get halogen projector headlights with auto lighting, LED DRLs, LED taillights, front fog lights with static cornering lights, Lane-Keeping Aid, Speed Limiter and Hill Start Assist.

Options list includes an 8-inch SYNC 3 infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, 675-watt 10-speaker B&O Sound System, Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Information System.

The Fiesta ST-Line Red and Black Edition are powered by a 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine with 140 hp and 180 Nm (133 lb-ft) of torque. Transmission is a 6-speed manual. The ST-Line models come with a tuned sports suspension.

The cars are available in select markets in Europe. “High-series vehicles including ST-Line models made up 70% of our passenger car sales in Europe in August – and we’re finding more than ever that customers want to make a statement with the cars that they drive,” said Amko Leenarts, director of Design, Ford Europe.
