Lexus has revealed the 2019 RC coupe in its F Sport form, ahead of its global debut at the Paris Motor Show in October.
Speaking of the exterior styling, the 2019 RC gets new front and rear bumpers where the corners sort of flows down from the headlamps and tail lamps, respectively. The trademark spindle grille now has mesh pattern which looks a lot more sportier. The triple LED headlamps is optional.
At the rear, the bumpers have air ducts, and there are revised rear combination lamps that now house a more pronounced L-shaped lenses – a new signature design feature for Lexus coupes. The new 19-inch alloy wheels were apparently inspired by those on the LS and LC.
A total of 10 exterior colors will be available for the RC, including a new, Blue Vortex Metallic.
The refined interiors get “Dark Gray Streamline” treatment on the heater control panel and audio panel. Customers can choose from 6 different types of interior trim, and the colors inside include Glazed Caramel and Black with Yellow accents. In all, there are 7 interior color combinations available, including those for the F Sport.
Lexus said that the suspension has been fine-tuned as well. Stiffer suspension bushings have been incorporated along with new shock absorbers which provide significant damping force from low suspension stroke speeds.
“Thanks to a significant amount of real-world testing that allowed constant fine-tuning by the chassis engineers, the new RC delivers an extremely supple ride quality and razor-sharp handling characteristics,” the company said.
As for the powertrain upgrades, Lexus said that the throttle response of the turbocharged 2.0-litre engine has also been enhanced. More details will be available in October.
