India Kawasaki Motors has launched the Z900RS in Metallic Spark Black, priced at Rs 15,30,000 ex-showroom, Delhi. The new color joins the Candytone Orange that was launched earlier this year.
Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director of India Kawasaki Motor, said – “Bringing Z900RS in India in February was a sort of achievement, because this model is produced in very limited numbers in Japan.”
The Z900RS is a concoction of 1970s original Z1 and the modern Z900. It features multi-function LCD screen nestled between dual analogue-style speedometer and tachometer dials. Other features include LED headlight, LED tail light and Kawasaki Traction Control.
The bike’s 948 cc in-line 4-cylinder liquid cooled engine develops 111 hp @ 8,500 rpm and 98.5 Nm of torque @ 6,500 rpm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Kawasaki has also tuned the bike’s exhaust note.
Front suspension is a 41 mm inverted fork with compression and rebound damping and spring preload adjustability, while the rear is a Horizontal Back-link gas-charged monoshock with rebound damping and spring preload adjustability.
Braking duties are handled by dual semi-floating 300 mm discs at front with 4-piston caliper, and a single 250 mm disc at the rear with single-piston caliper.
“Z900RS, a product mostly bought by a certain elite groups, received lots of compliments for its premium quality and meticulous finishing. The positive response through various sources prompted us to bring Z900RS in black. We do hope that this new addition will be received well by our customers and followers,” added Mr. Yamashita.
