Good times for Volvo Cars India, as they’ve received 200 confirmed bookings for the XC40 R-Design within a fortnight of launch. Last week, their Bengaluru dealer delivered 12 R-Design units in 1 day.
The company has now introduced the Momentum and Inscription trims, priced at Rs 39.9 lakh and Rs 43.9 lakh, respectively. The R-Design trim now costs Rs 42.9 lakh. All prices ex-showroom, Pan India.
Charles Frump – Managing Director, Volvo Car India said, “We are absolutely delighted to have received such a positive response for the newly launched XC40. It’s a great beginning for us and we expect it to contribute considerably in achieving 10% segment share by 2020.”
Exteriors of the more expensive Inscription trim gets a different grille, C-Pillar Inscription molding, and 18-inch 6-spoke Black Diamond Cut wheels for the Indian market (featured photo is of international-spec model).
Interiors of the XC40 Inscription get Drift wood inlays, perforated steering wheel, crystal gear lever knob, Inscription tread plates, 12V outlet in luggage area, and power foldable rear headrests. Rest of the equipment including 9-inch touchscreen infotainment, Harman Kardon premium sound system and safety kit has been carried over from the R-Design.
The Inscription trim gets Four-C active chassis system as standard. The Four-C in XC40 doesn’t appear to be an air suspension, but electronically controlled dampers that adapt the chassis to the driving modes.
