German tuner Novitec has picked up the Maserati Ghibli this time for the ‘refinement’. The Ghibli GranLusso and GranSport models have got power upgrade, carbon aerodynamics and new set of wheels.
The naked carbon components give the vehicle lower and longer visual stance while the rear spoiler minimizes aerodynamic lift. The king-sized Novitec NM1 22-inch wheels shod with Pirelli P Zero tires of size 255/30 at front and 315/25 at the rear round off the looks. The wheels are available in silver, matte black, titanium, and titanium with polished surfaces.
Performance
As for the performance, the engine tuning is available for both gasoline and diesel models. The performance kit features a plug-and-play N-Tronic module that modifies the ECU. The extra power is achieved with a newly programmed mapping for injection, boost pressure control and ignition.
The most powerful variants of the production car, the Ghibli S with rear-wheel drive and the Ghibli S Q4 with all-wheel drive, produce an output of 316 kW / 430 hp and generate a peak torque of 580 Nm. With the aforementioned N-Tronic module, the V6 turbo engine delivers an additional 47 kW / 64 hp and 80 Nm of torque.
With 363 kW / 494 hp at a low 5,300 rpm, and 660 Nm on tap constantly between 1,700 and 4,900 rpm, the tuned all-wheel-drive variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. The top speed jumps from 286 km/h to 296 km/h, Novitec said.
The 350 hp gasoline variant too can be upgraded to 303 kW / 412 hp and 590 Nm. The engine tuning is available for the 3.0-liter 6-cylinder common-rail diesel model as well, where the tuning delivers an extra 35 kW / 47 hp and 80 Nm of torque. With 237 kW / 322 hp at a low 3,800 rpm, 680 Nm of torque at a low 2,200 rpm and the 8-speed automatic, the refined Ghibli delivers even better performance – with a sprint time of 5.6 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, the Novitec version bests the production car by seven tenths of a second, the company said.
To give the Ghibli turbodiesel a sportier sound, Novitec offers a module for the standard electronic active sound system of the exhaust. When the driver pushes the “Sport” button, the processor-controlled auxiliary module lends the V6 turbodiesel an even more thrilling exhaust note, Novitec added.
The company is offering suspension mods too. The height-adjustable stainless coilover suspension is available for all Ghibli models with rear-wheel drive. It features continuously variable ride-height adjustment and shock absorbers that can be adapted to individual driver preferences with regards to bound and rebound. The ride height of the S Q4 all-wheel-drive model can be lowered with Novitec sport springs, which are also available in special variants for GranSport models equipped with the electronically controlled Skyhook suspension ex-factory.
Interiors
As for the interiors, Novitec can fulfill even the most extravagant requests of the owner in any desired color, in any upholstery design no matter how unusual it might be, and of course from the finest leather, Alcantara, carbon fiber, and precious wood.
