Mercedes-Benz India has launched the Mercedes-AMG GLE 43 4Matic Coupe ‘OrangeArt’ and SLC 43 ‘RedArt’ Editions, priced at Rs 1.02 Crore and Rs 87.48 lakh respectively, ex-showroom, Pan India.
GLE 43 Coupe 4Matic OrangeArt
The GLE 43 Coupe 4Matic OrangeArt gets orange highlights on the front apron, full LED headlamps with black LED ring and Intelligent Light System, and AMG 21-inch 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels in high-gloss black finish with orange rim flange.
On the inside, the Coupe gets sports seats upholstered in black nappa leather and Dinamica microfibre with orange piping and contrast stitching in grey, floor mats with AMG lettering and piping in orange, three-spoke multifunction steering wheel in black nappa leather and sports pedals.
The Coupe is available in 3 paint finishes – Polar White, Obsidian black and Selenite grey
SLC 43 RedArt
The SLC 43 RedArt too is all about visual upgrades. It gets red accents on the front bumper, red brake calipers with AMG lettering, and 18-inch AMG 10-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in high-gloss black and rim flange painted in red.
Interiors get black leather seats featuring silver pearl nappa leather inserts, red contrast stitching and head restraints in carbon-fibre effect embossed leather with embroidered Edition logo, and few options for door centre panels and seats.
The SLC 43 RedArt is available in Polar white and Designo selenite grey magno (optional).
No mechanical changes on either of the special editions. The GLE 43 Coupe 4Matic is powered by a 3.0 V6 bi-turbo, delivering 390 hp @ 6100 rpm and 520 Nm of torque @ 2000-4200 rpm. The SLC 43 too is powered by the same 3.0 V6 bi-turbo, but produces 367 hp @ 5500-6000 rpm and the same 520 Nm of torque @ 2000-4200 rpm.
Both cars get a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission that sends power to the all four wheels in the GLE while in the SLC, the power is sent to the rear wheels. The GLE 43 can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds while the SLC can do it in 4.7 seconds. Both models have an electronically limited 250 km/h top speed.
The SLC 43 was originally launched in India in July 2016. The SLC RedArt Edition was globally revealed in February 2017.
