Triumph has launched the new Tiger 1200 XCx in India at Rs 17,00,000 ex-showroom, Pan India. The adventure motorcycle previously carried the name Tiger Explorer.
Triumph claims to have made over 100 enhancements to the new model (including a lighter flywheel, crankshaft, exhaust silencer, engine bars and battery) which has resulted in 5 kg weight saving over its predecessor.
There is ergonomic improvements as well, including a more comfortable seat compound and a new handlebar position. The seat features adjustable ‘2 position’ mechanism allowing the rider to lower seat height by 20 mm to suit their style and for a more comfortable riding experience.
Other features include LED lighting, color TFT display, 5 riding modes (‘Rain’, ‘Road’, ‘Off-Road’, ‘Sport’ and the new ‘Off-Road Pro’), cornering ABS, and traction control.
Front suspension is a WP 48 mm upside down forks with electronically adjustable damping, 190 mm travel, while the rear is a WP monoshock, electronically adjustable semi active damping with automatic preload adjustment, 193 mm travel.
Braking duties are handled by twin 305 mm floating discs at front with Brembo 4-piston calipers, while the rear is a single 282 mm disc with Nissin 2-piston sliding caliper.
Powering the bike is a 1215 cc in-line 3-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, delivering 141 hp (104 kW) @ 9,350 rpm and 122 Nm of torque @ 7,600 rpm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox with torque assist clutch.
