BMW-owned marque Mini has launched the second generation Countryman in India, with prices starting at Rs 34.90 lakh ex-showroom, Pan India.

The new Countryman was globally unveiled back in October 2016, and is built on the same platform as the X1. Both cars are locally assembled at the company’s Chennai plant.
The Cooper S and Cooper S JCW are powered by a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine, producing 192 hp and 280 Nm of torque. The Cooper SD is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged diesel unit, delivering 190 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired with 8-speed Steptronic transmission.
Features include 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system (8.8-inch optional), Harman Kardon sound system, MINI navigation system, 20 GB of entertainment storage, 2-zone auto AC, panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, wireless charging, cruise control, head-up display, reversing camera, automatic tailgate and more.
Visually, the JCW variant gets a more sex appeal that includes 18-inch light-alloy wheels. In the international markets, there is a plug-in hybrid variant as well. Read more about the new Countryman here.
