Land Rover has launched the 4th model in the Range Rover family — the Velar, in India, with prices starting at Rs 78.83 lakh, ex-showroom. The Velar was globally unveiled earlier this year, and sits between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport.
There are 3 powertrains on offer — two diesel, one petrol with two states of tune as mentioned on the official website.
- D180 — 2.0L turbo diesel (1,999 cc), 177 hp and 430 Nm of torque
- D300 — 3.0L V6 turbo diesel (2,993 cc), 296 hp and 700 Nm of torque
- P250 — 2.0L turbo petrol (1,997 cc), 247 hp and 365 Nm of torque
- P300 — 2.0L turbo petrol (1,997 cc), 296 hp and 400 Nm of torque
Transmission is an 8-speed automatic. The P300 is claimed to do 0-100 km/h in 6.0 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 234 km/h.
Some of the key features include Matrix LED headlamps, 20-way seats with driver/passenger memory massage and heating/cooling, Meridian Surround Sound System, Navigation Pro, Powered gesture tailgate and more. More can be read about the Velar and pictures here.
