The next generation Mercedes-Benz G-Class is expected to debut at the Detroit Motor Show (NAIAS) in January 2018, but someone at Stuttgart couldn’t seem to hold the excitement.
The new G-Class’ dashboard retains the utilitarian layout but gets the family design features such the attached instrument cluster and infotainment, turbine style air vents and brushed aluminium accents. The diff lock switches remain in the same position between the air vents, as it is easy to reach.
The new G-Class is expected to be significantly lighter yet have increased torsional rigidity than the outgoing model, thanks to the aluminium construction. Some new set of engines including the AMG 4.0 V8 biturbo are expected to be on offer.
