Piaggio India (PVPL) has launched the Vespa Red special edition at Rs 87,000 ex-showroom, Maharashtra. The company has collaborated with RED – an organization that partners with popular brands to create RED-branded goods, where up to 50% of profits are claimed to be contributed to fighting AIDS.
Over the past decade, RED claims to have raised $465 million with the help of its partners.
Coming back to the Vespa RED, the vehicle is all-Red as you can see, including the wheels and seat. As you might have guessed, there are no mechanical changes. The scooter is powered by a 125 cc single-cylinder engine, producing 10.06 metric hp at 7,500 rpm and 10.6 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, paired with a CVT.
On every purchase of Vespa RED, $50 will be contributed towards fighting AIDS in India, for purchasing HIV medication.
