Looks like the earlier reports of a possible electric Tiago is true after all. Tata Motors European Technical Centre has showcased the Tiago EV at the Cenex-LCV event in UK.
These images tell us that the electric Tiago is a converted version of the combustion engine Tiagos, and the technicals appear to be from the Bolt EV concept developed by TMETC last year.
The Tiago EV is powered by a liquid-cooled 85 kW electric motor developing 200 Nm of torque, driving the front wheels through a single speed gearbox. Those who have been in a Jaguar or a Land Rover will recognize the gear selector on the inside.
The EV concept weighs 1040 kg, and has a range of over 100 km. It does 0-100 km/h in less than 11 seconds in sport mode and has a top speed of 135 km/h.
While the Bolt EV remained a concept, the Tiago EV looks promising if it can offer a little more range of course.
