The last Brabus i really liked is the CLS 850 which pretty much sounds like a lion. If you too are into something like that, then one car definitely not to miss at the IAA 2017 is the Rocket 900 Cabrio.
Based on the Mercedes-AMG S 65 Cabriolet, the 900 Cabrio makes 900 hp @ 5,500 rpm from its 6.3-litre V12 biturbo, and a max torque of 1,500 Nm at 4,200 rpm. But then, the peak torque is electronically limited to 1,200 Nm.
The power is channelled to the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission modified to handle the enormous power, and a Brabus limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent.
Claimed to be the world’s fastest and most powerful street-legal open-top four-seater, the 900 Cabrio does 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds, and top speed is in excess of 350 km/h (217 mph).
The active sound management is controlled with a button on the steering wheel. The driver decides whether to operate the Cabrio in an inconspicuous, quiet ‘Coming Home’ mode or to enjoy the powerful 12-cylinder sound in the ‘Sport’ mode.
As with any Brabus, there are some generous usage of carbon bits in the body work. The wheels are Brabus Monoblock wheels, which are available in different sizes from 18 to 22 inches in diameter.
The interiors get two-tone leather combination of ‘Mondial Vanilla’ and ‘Mondial Black’, with contrast stitching of the body paint. The production wood inlays and trim strips in the cockpit has been replaced with the components made from black ash wood. Alternatively, you can go for genuine carbon components.
Brabus Rocket 900 Cabrio is available as a complete car or can be built based on any current Mercedes S 65 Cabriolet.
