For those who never knew, the Duster that you or your friend or your neighbor drives, is known as ‘Dacia Duster’ in several international markets. The SUV was jointly developed by Renault and its Romanian subsidiary Dacia.
The company has released a few images of the new generation Duster ahead of its full-unveil at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show next month. These images give us an idea of how the future Renault Duster and also the Nissan Terrano in India could look like.
Going by its looks, the new model appears to be slightly larger than before. Besides the new grille design, the headlamp cluster has been redesigned with integrated LED daytime running lights divided into three sections. Overall, the front design makes the car appear more wider than it actually is. The satin-chrome-finished skid plate is apparently scratch resistant.
Dacia said that the windscreen has been brought forward 100 mm compared to the current Duster and is more steeply raked, which makes the cabin longer and looks more spacious. Although there are new 17-inch alloy wheels, the side profile has been largely retained except for a higher beltline, including the flap-style door handles.
The tailgate has been reworked and there is a new set of taillights. Just like the front, the rear too gets a satin-chrome-finish skid plate.
Last but not the least, there is a new body colour called Atacama Orange. More details are expected next month.
