Mitsubishi Outlander was one of the most handsome looking SUVs in India in its second generation, before it was discontinued in 2013. Well, the good news is that the company has listed the third generation Outlander in its official website, suggesting the relaunch is just around the corner.
The new Outlander sits on the same GS platform co-developed with Daimler and FCA, but has been significantly modified allowing for a PHEV hybrid version. Internationally, there is a choice of six powertrains including an aforementioned PHEV.
Mitsubishi has not announced the engines for the India-spec model yet, but has shared few details. The transmission is a CVT with 6 Speed sports mode with paddle shifters. 0-100 km/h acceleration happens in 11.1 seconds.
The vehicle comes with Electronically controlled 4WD system, 4WD ECO mode for maximum economy, and Active Stability Control (ASC).
Mitsubishi says that the new design, esp. the front and the roof, reduces the coefficient of drag by 7%.
Other features include LED headlamps & fog lamps, anti trapping electric Sunroof, rain sensing wipers, ABS + EBD. Hill start assist(HAS), and auto headlamps.
Interiors get push button start, genuine leather, Rockford Fosgate Premium sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and electric parking brake with auto hold.
