BMW has added a new top-spec variant to the 3 Series range in India – the 320d Edition Sport, priced at Rs 38.60 lakh, ex-showroom Pan India. The Edition Sport is produced at BMW’s Chennai facility, and is now available to order at the dealerships across the country.
On the exterior, the Edition Sport gets kidney grille slats in high-gloss black, while the interiors get chrome detailing, and red contrast stitching on the sports seats and steering wheel.
Standard features include 205 Watt 9 speaker surround sound system, iDrive with a 6.5-inch display, electric sunroof, and Rear View Camera with Park Distance Control (PDC). As a unique feature, the key gets some red detailing.
Exterior color choices are Alpine White, Black Sapphire and Mediterranean Blue.
There is no mechanical changes, the 320d Edition Sport is powered by the same 2.0-litre (1995 cc) TwinPower turbo diesel motor, producing 190 hp @ 4000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque @ 1750 – 2750 rpm. Transmission is an 8-speed Steptronic Sport auto with paddle shifters, sending power to the rear wheels. The car does 0–100 km/h in 7.2 seconds and top speed is limited at 250 km/h. Weight distribution is at 50:50.
There are Comfort, ECO PRO, Sport, Sport+ driving modes on offer. The Edition Sport comes with Launch Control as standard.
Auto Start-Stop and Brake-Energy Regeneration are few more features.
Safety kit includes 6 air bags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with brake assist, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), ISOFIX child seat mounting, and Runflat tyres (RFT).
