Aston Martin Vanquish Volante debuts with open-air V12 motoring

A V12 in 2025?!

The Volante version of the 3rd-gen Aston Martin Vanquish has now arrived. Although not a limited edition model, it is available to order in limited numbers as of now, with first deliveries scheduled to commence in Q3 2025.

Visually, the Vanquish Volante looks just as stunning as the coupe. Besides the obvious, the other significant difference that you may not notice is the lack of an integrated ducktail spoiler. Not sure of the reason for its omission here. But anyway, the K-fold fabric roof takes 14-seconds to open and 16-seconds to close, and can be operated at speeds of up to 50 km/h (31 mph). The roof is neatly stowed under the tonneau cover.

The lack of a fixed roof means, of course, you need to somehow make the car more structurally rigid. In the case of the Vanquish Volante, there’s a sculpted cross brace right behind the seats. Which means the Vanquish Volante is also a strict two-seater model. While it may seem like there is no space for luggage, Aston Martin says that there are purpose-made storage areas for exquisite saddle leather luggage sets, which are available as an accessory.

The rest of the things remain the same. The Vanquish Volante is powered by a 5.2L twin-turbo V12 engine with 614 kW (835 metric hp) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) on offer. An 8-speed ZF automatic transmission drives the rear wheels. While the top speed is rated the same 345 km/h (214 mph) as the coupe, the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time is 3.4 seconds, 0.1 seconds slower.
