BMW has added two new variants to its 7 Series lineup in India: 740d M Sport and i7 M70 xDrive, priced at INR 1,81,00,000 and INR 2,50,00,000 (ex-showroom), respectively. So far, the company has sold 740i and i7 xDrive 60, priced at INR 1,70,00,000 and 1,95,00,000 (ex-showroom), respectively.
The i7 M70 xDrive is powered by two electric motors, one at the front and another at the rear, offering combined figures of 485 kW (659 metric hp) and 1,015 Nm (749 lb-ft). The output figures of the international-spec may vary a bit. But anyway, this model is claimed to sprint from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds. A 101.7 kWh (gross) battery pack is claimed to offer a WLTP range of up to 560 km (348 mi).
Key features inside include BMW Live Cockpit Professional (14.9-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital cluster), 8K screen for rear passengers, 35-speaker Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system, and Executive Lounge Seating for rear passengers with up to 42.5-degree reclining angle.
Driving Assistant Professional is included as standard, which comes with Steering & Lane Control Assistant, Emergency Stop Assistant, Lane Change Assistant, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, and Lane Departure Warning.
The 740d M Sport is a diesel rear-wheel-drive model, powered by a 3.0L straight-six turbo diesel engine with 210 kW (285.5 metric hp) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft), paired with a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox. This one too gets all the features the i7 gets.
