The Ford Mustang is all set to make its FIA GT3 debut in 2024 with a new Mustang Dark Horse-based racer called the Mustang GT3. One of the key highlights of the new Mustang GT3 includes a new race livery with a new Ford Performance logo from renowned motorsports designer Troy Lee. Canada’s Multimatic is gonna be building the car, so, those who are interested, are required to express their interest on Multimatic’s official website here.
The new livery—as you can see—combines some bright colors including shades of orange, red, a pinkish-violet that fades into purple, and of course, white logos. Speaking of logos, Mr. Lee has gone for what is billed as a cleaner, simplified look for the new Ford Performance logo/branding—which will be featured on all Ford racing cars moving forward.
The Mustang GT3 has been blessed with a generous application of carbon fibre, including the body panels and aero elements. The race car also boasts a bespoke short-long arm suspension and a rear-mounted transaxle gearbox.
Powering the Mustang GT3 is a Coyote-based 5.4L naturally aspirated V8 engine—which will be assembled by longtime World Rally Championship partner and two-time championship-winning team M-Sport. Notice the carbon fibre cover on the engine as well.
