You probably remember seeing the MG Cyberster electric roadster concept at the 2021 Auto Shanghai. Well, the company has now unveiled an evolved version of the concept at its UK HQ in Marylebone, London. MG doesn’t classify this new iteration as either a concept or a prototype but confirmed that the “MG Cyberster is due to arrive in European Markets in 2024” in its official press release.
The evolved version is a lot more—I guess you could say—production believable—as opposed to the wacky concept we saw over two years ago. Just when you think that the Cyberster is an electric Miata with that smiley face, it has those scissor doors for much-needed drama. It doesn’t seem like the rear-end has a wing—as you see in the concept, but the final production version might have one. The wheel design is also a practical iteration of those of the concept, which is always a nice thing. The roof is gonna be a soft-top, electrically operated one; we don’t have the photos yet, but you know, it’s not too hard to imagine.
Inside, well, MG doesn’t wanna show the inside just yet, but the concept had a fully driver-focused design with a curved panel, a yoke-like steering and a fully separated passenger side. This prototype has something similar, but not that dramatic.
No further details are available just yet, but I guess the information is not too far away from now.
