The BMW X3 M40i has arrived at the Indian shores for the first time and is available at an ex-showroom price of INR 86,50,000. The sporty variant is being imported into the country as a Completely Built-Up (CBU)—which explains the exorbitant price tag.
The X3 M40i is the only petrol option you’ve in India currently if you don’t fancy the diesel X3. Key exterior highlights include adaptive LED headlights; M High Gloss Shadow Line extended content; M Shadow Line lights (dark tint around headlights); standard 20-inch M light alloy wheels; M Sport brakes with red calipers, and a panoramic glass roof.
Adaptive M Suspension, M Sport differential and Variable Sport Steering are included as standard too.
Inside, key highlights include BMW Live Cockpit Professional (a 12.3-inch driver display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen); a head-up display; Harman Kardon sound system; 3-zone climate control; M leather steering wheel, M seat belts; ambient lighting with six dimmable designs, and more.
Powering the X3 M40i is a 3.0L straight-six turbo petrol engine (B58) that pumps out 265 kW (360 metric hp) from 5,200 and 6,500 rpm and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque from 1,900 and 5,000 rpm. The engine is coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission (ZF torque converter) and xDrive AWD system. The official 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time is 4.9 seconds.
