As you probably know, Honda Cars India (HCIL) is in dire need of new products in its Indian portfolio; it especially needs new SUVs—because apparently, the world still can’t get enough of ’em. And so, the company is getting ready to launch/reveal a new SUV in summer 2023. The official press release that was shared with us via email didn’t offer any further details except for a hard-to-understand teaser, but I’m pretty sure HCIL is thinking about bringing the second-gen WR-V that went on sale in Indonesia last November.
If launched, the new WR-V is gonna go against the likes of the Brezza, Venue-Sonet duo, Nexon, and of course, the Magnite-Kiger duo. In Indonesia, the new WR-V is powered by an 89 kW (121 metric hp) 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine coupled with a CVT. But for the Indian market, you can definitely expect a manual transmission option.
