BMW has launched the third-gen X1 in India, priced at INR 45,90,000 for the X1 sDrive18i xLine and INR 47,90,000 for the X1 sDrive18d M Sport variant. The prices are ex-showroom and include GST.
The third-gen X1 made its global debut in June last year and comes in a variety of flavors including PHEV and all-electric. For the Indian market, however, only two options are available for now. Notice that in the M Sport variant, the chrome bits are replaced with gloss black bits except for the grille, plus you get a different front bumper and a different set of 18-inch wheels.
Other key highlights include adaptive LED headlights, a panoramic glass roof, dual-zone climate control, active front seats (M Sport), BMW Live Cockpit Plus (a 10.25-inch driver display and a 10.7-inch central touchscreen), a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system (M Sport), a wireless smartphone charging pad, and safety systems such as airbags, ABS, Attentiveness Assistant, Dynamic Traction Control, and TPMS. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged unit that pumps out 100 kW (136 metric hp) and 230 Nm (170 lb-ft) of torque. In the past, the X1 petrol in India was powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged unit. But do note that in the international markets, the X1 xDrive23i (2.0L 4-cylinder turbo petrol AWD) is also available.
The diesel variant packs a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged unit with 110 kW (150 metric hp) and 360 Nm (266 lb-ft). Both engines are coupled with a 7-speed DCT, with the M Sport getting a sporty calibration. No xDrive (AWD) for the Indian market.
