Chevrolet has revealed the third-gen Aveo hatchback for the Mexican market, scheduled to go on sale in the first half of 2023 as a 2024 model. Chevy wants us to talk only about the design currently because the rest of the details have been reserved for another date.
For the first time ever, the Chevrolet Aveo is being offered in a hatchback form in Mexico, and it is unclear at the moment if a sedan will also join the lineup. The 2024 Aveo is not only a product of the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture but will also be exported from China. Its styling gives off strong Audi vibes, especially from the three-quarter angles, thanks to those bumpers, headlights and taillights design. It’s a chic styling overall and will certainly appeal to the younger crowd.
We don’t have the interior images just yet, but Chevy promises a spacious cabin and a large trunk space. Safety systems will include all four disc brakes, 6 airbags, ABS, seatbelt alert (front & rear), and rear parking sensors.
As mentioned, further details have been reserved for another date. But the outgoing Aveo in Mexico is powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine (co-developed by Suzuki and Daewoo) with 80 kW (107 bhp/109 metric hp) and 141 Nm (104 lb-ft) of torque, coupled with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
