Along with the Jeep CJ Surge Concept, Stellantis is showcasing the Ram 1500 Backcountry X Concept at this year’s SEMA Show. The modified truck is claimed to offer a serious combo of work and play.
The concept integrates conceptual RamPack storage compartments on both sides of the truck bed, showcasing that you can significantly increase the storage space without compromising the functionality of the pickup bed itself. The storage compartments are covered by a carbon fibre hatch-type panel. Inside, Mopar RamBox vertical bin dividers help organize your things. Also fitted to the concept is a RamRack—which uses additional Thule cross rails if you need to carry more stuff. Attached at each corner of the RamRack are 2-inch TYRI LED lights, while a Center High Mount Stop Light adds a third brake light to the rear crossbar.
The concept rides on matte-black 20-by-9-inch Fuel Heater wheels wrapped with 37-inch BFGoodrich tires, plus a Mopar 2-inch lift kit with FOX shocks. Up front, a Mopar tubular grille guard houses four Mopar 5-inch LED off-road lights. On the side, you got Mopar tube steps for easy entry and exit.
Inside, the Ram 1500 Backcountry X Concept features sporty seats with tone-on-tone green upholstery with contrast orange stitching. The contrast orange can also be found on the steering wheel, door panels, armrests, and of course, on the air vents as well. The front seats feature embroidered Backcountry X and Mopar logos. Between the front seats, a custom, deployable work surface with an integrated measuring system slides out from the center armrest, offering 12- by 14-inches of additional workspace.
Black Gode-Tex vinyl-wrapped A- and C-pillar handles, Mopar all-weather mats, and a concept RamVac onboard vacuum cleaner under the second-row bench seat, are some of the other key highlights.
