Porsche has revealed the 718 Style Edition models—which include the 718 Boxster Style Edition and the 718 Cayman Style Edition. As the name suggests, the special edition adds visual enhancements over the regular models.
Speaking of which, the buyers can choose the ‘Ruby Star Neo’ exterior color, which apparently is a modern interpretation of the Ruby Star paint on the 964-gen 911 Carrera RS. But what about those white wheels and stripes you ask? I’ll come to that in just a minute. So, even if you don’t choose that aforementioned pink paint, there’ll be other distinguishing factors: the models ride on 20-inch 718 Spyder wheels in high-gloss black, and their wheel hub covers feature colored Porsche Crests. Black tailpipes, “Porsche” lettering on the rump in high-gloss silver, and embossed “Boxster” lettering on the soft top are some of the other key highlights.
At no extra cost, Porsche will offer two contrast packages for the 718 Style Edition. One in black and the other in white. Both include decorative stripes, black or white high-gloss wheels and black or white model designations at the rear.
Inside, the Style Edition models feature a leather package in black including contrast stitching in chalk, illuminated stainless steel door sills and the Porsche Crest on the headrests.
Other than that, standard equipment on these models includes BiXenon headlights; ParkAssist; Apple CarPlay; cruise control; auto-dimming exterior and interior mirrors; heated steering wheel; heated seats; dual-zone automatic climate control, and Power Steering Plus. Because remember, the Style Edition models are based on the entry-level 718 models.
Mechanically, there’ll not be any changes. Both are powered by a 220 kW (300 metric hp) 2.0-litre (1,988 cc) 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox. A 7-speed PDK is optionally available.
