Italy’s microcar maker Estrima showcased an improved version of its Birò microcar at the 2022 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. The improvements come in the form of increased internal volumes—the usability side of things—while retaining the external dimensions.
As for styling, there’s nothing to talk about, except that now there are full LED headlights and taillights for supposed better visibility of the road ahead in all driving conditions. But as mentioned, the significant improvements are on the inside. In the standard model, the rear luggage compartment apparently goes from 41 to 122 liters and is accessible from the inside. And in the Birò Big, the luggage compartment goes from 204 to 308 liters. Also, the new Biròs are tall people friendly now, thanks to +4 cm between the seats and the roof.
The Birò is powered by two 48-volt electric motors on the rear axle (yes, two motors) producing a combined output of 3.3 kW (4.5 metric hp). It can do a top speed of 45 km/h (28 mph), or, 60 km/h (37 mph) if you get the optional Bolt pack. The pack, among other things, gets you two 1.9 kW motors for a grand total of 3.8 kW (5.2 metric hp). As for the battery pack, you get 55 Km (34 mi) Re-Move and 100 km (62 mi) Maxi options.
