Malaysian startup Reevo Bikes has come up with a uniquely designed e-bike, which it claims to be the world’s first hubless e-bike. The project was crowdfunded on Indiegogo and is now being offered for sale for US$ 3,188. Which I think is quite an expensive price tag for an e-bike, but let’s see.
As you can probably see from the photos, the Reevo e-bike features hubless wheels, where the company insists that you hook-up your laptop bag in the negative space. Just FYI, Reevo didn’t invent hubless wheels; we have seen them before. The Verge TS electric motorcycle, for example, features a hubless rear wheel. In this case, the hubless rear wheel is driven by a set of gears. Watch the animation below.

For the EU markets, the e-motor offers 250-watts (0.34 metric hp) and for the U.S. market, it’s gonna be 750-watts (1 metric hp). The top speed is gonna be 25 km/h (15.5 mph) for the EU and 32 km/h (20 mph) for the U.S. A 48-volt, 10.5 Ah removable battery pack is claimed to offer a range of up to 60 km or 37 miles.

As for the other key features, the Reevo e-bike boasts wheel storage hooks; wheel-integrated headlights & taillights; a phone holder with USB charging; a smartphone app; biometric authentication, and an anti-theft wheel locking mechanism.
