The Volkswagen Taigun is celebrating its first anniversary with a special Taigun First Anniversary Edition. Prices are not disclosed, but VW said that the special edition is based on the Topline trim and will be available only with 1.0L TSI with MT/AT powertrain.
So, what’s this Taigun First Anniversary Edition all about? Well, to begin with, you get a new ‘Rising Blue’ color option that is not offered on the regular Taigun. For those who don’t fancy the blue, VW will offer Curcuma Yellow and Wild Cherry Red options.

The other features of this so-called special edition include items that are basically dealer-installable accessories. These would include a black roof foil, black ORVM caps, window visors (are you for real, VW?!), C-pillar decals, high lux fog lights, door garnishes, door edge protectors, aluminium pedals, and of course, 1st anniversary branding wherever possible. Which means I guess the final price depends on what options you pick.
No mechanical changes, obviously. The 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine offers 85 kW (116 metric hp) and 178 Nm (131 lb-ft) of torque, and can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The regular Taigun also offers a 110 kW (150 metric hp) 1.5L TSI (GT Line) with 6-MT or 7-speed DSG automatic.
