Citroen has launched the 2022 C5 Aircross facelift in India, available only in a single ‘Shine’ trim, priced at INR 36.67 lakh, ex-showroom, Pan India. Which means, the already-expensive price tag the SUV debuted with a year ago, has gotten even more expensive. Which also means that the on-road price in Bengaluru comes dangerously close to BMW X1.
But anyway, the 2022 C5 Aircross facelift made its global debut earlier this year with styling revisions, upgraded onboard tech and new interior ambiences. Key features for the Indian market include LED lighting all around, 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic glass roof, a 10-inch touchscreen, Mirror Screen, electrically adjustable driver seat, dual-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch driver display, and more. Comfort suspension with Progressive Hydraulic Cushions comes standard. Download the brochure here.
Safety and assistance systems include airbags, ESC, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Blind Spot Information System, Coffee Break Alert, TPMS, front & rear parking sensors, and a few more. No ADAS.
The above pic is of the global version which offers a plug-in hybrid powertrain as well. For the Indian market, the 2.0L (1,997 cc) 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine is carried over, with the same output figures of 130 kW (177 metric hp) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. An 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox drives the front wheels.
