Audi India has decided to bring back the Q3 to the market after over a 5-year break. Instead of the second-gen Q3 that debuted in mid-2018 itself, Audi decided to offer the Q2 in India in late 2020, but thanks to ridiculous price tag the models carried, nobody cared to even check ’em out. I mean, the prices ranged between INR 34.99 lakh to a complete nonsense 48.89 lakh! And remember, those were ex-showroom prices. So, did Audi learn the lesson? I’m not entirely sure, but the second-gen Q3 is now available in two trims: Premium Plus—priced at INR 44,89,000 and Technology—priced at INR 50,39,000. The prices are, again, ex-showroom, Pan India.
Key features for the Indian market include LED headlights; 18-inch alloy wheels; aluminium roof rails; panoramic glass roof; power-adjustable front seats with 4-way lumbar support; leather-wrapped steering wheel; dual-zone climate control; a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster; MMI display; 6-speaker audio system, and more. Safety and assistance systems include airbags, ESC, hill start assist, and parking aid plus.
The Q3 in India is currently available only with a single powertrain (40 TFSI), and that would be a 2.0-litre (1,984 cc) 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 140 kW (190 metric hp) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is coupled with a 7-speed S tronic automatic gearbox and quattro AWD system.
