Mitsubishi has facelifted the Xpander Cross MPV for the Indonesian market, with prices starting at Rp 309,950,000 (INR 16.83 lakh) for the manual variant and Rp 335,750,000 (INR 18.23 lakh) for the CVT variant. Visitors of the 29th GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show can catch a glimpse of the new crossover.
The styling revisions have made the already busy-looking front fascia look even busier, but hey, you gotta “facelift” somehow. The rear-end looks sharp and clean and a lot more appealing compared with the front fascia, especially from the rear-three-quarter angles. That said, the headlights and taillights are now in some kind of a T-shape for consistency reasons or something like that. The new 17-inch wheels look pretty stylish too.
The refreshed cabin features a brand new, contemporary-looking dashboard; a new steering wheel; a 9-inch touchscreen; an 8-inch driver display; a wireless smartphone charging pad; second-row USB sockets, and more. Safety systems include airbags, ABS + EBD, Active Stability Control, Hill-start Assist, and more. There’s also the Active Yaw Control (AYC) which is claimed to offer improved cornering performance by adjusting the braking force on the front wheels. Download the brochure here.
The Xpander Cross continues to be powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with 77 kW (105 metric hp) and 141 Nm (104 lb-ft) of torque. The engine can be paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT. Despite the ‘Cross’ in the name, there’s no AWD option.
