Volvo Cars has launched the all-electric XC40 Recharge in India, priced at INR 55,90,000, ex-showroom, Pan India. The electric SUV is available only in a single ‘Ultimate’ trim with a dual-motor AWD powertrain.
The XC40 Recharge made its global debut nearly 3 years ago but made it to the Indian shores only now. It got a few styling revisions earlier this year with a new front fascia, a new set of wheels and new color options.
Key features for the Indian market include built-in Google features, PM 2.5 air filtration, 13-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and ADAS such as automatic emergency braking, lane keeping system, blind spot information system, rear cross traffic alert with autobrake, and 360° parking view.
The AWD XC40 Recharge offers 300 kW (408 hp) of combined power and 660 Nm (487 lb-ft) of combined torque. The official 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time is 4.9 seconds. A 78 kWh battery pack (75 kWh usable) is claimed to offer a WLTP range of up to 418 km (260 mi).
