Tata Motors has launched the Nexon EV Prime in India, with prices starting at INR 14.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Pan India. The Prime borrows some of the features from the Nexon EV Max and replaces the regular Nexon EV.
Variant | ex-Showroom price (in INR) |
XM | 14,99,000 |
XZ+ | 16,30,000 |
XZ+ Lux | 17,30,000 |
Dark XZ+ | 16,49,000 |
Dark XZ+ Lux | 17,50,000 |
So what’s this Nexon EV Prime all about? Well, as mentioned, it’s the Nexon EV with some features stolen from its long-range brother, the Nexon EV Max. These include Multi-Mode Regen, Automatic Brake Lamp Activation on Regen, Cruise Control, Indirect Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (iTPMS), Smartwatch connectivity, and Charging Timeout of 110 seconds.
And apparently, over 22,000 existing Nexon EV owners will receive some of these features via OTA updates. Subsequent software updates to all existing owners will be on a paid basis, the company added in an official statement.
The Nexon EV Prime is powered by a single electric motor at the front, offering 95 kW (129 metric hp) and 245 Nm (181 lb-ft) of torque; same as the original Nexon EV. A 30.2 kWh battery pack is claimed to offer a range of up to 312 km (194 mi), which is again, the same as what the original Nexon EV claimed. Download the brochure here.
