Honda’s HPD (Honda Performance Development) division is offering the 2022 HPD Civic Si FE1 race car—which as the name suggests, is a race-ready Civic Si. Asking price is $55,000 plus tax and includes a roll cage; a full range of HPD-developed and homologated parts including the engine, suspension, exhaust, fuel cell, and Motec electronics packages. HPD is accepting pre-orders via phone (1-661-702-7777) or email (grmsadmin@na.honda.com) with a deposit of $25,000. The car comes assembled and painted in Pearl White.
Compared with the road car, the HPD Civic Si features an additional front lip spoiler, extended rocker panels, a gigantic rear wing, and of course, lowered ride height. The Bilstein suspension setup is adjustable at both front and rear with two spring rate options. The front camber and caster plates are adjustable, while at the rear, the camber and toe arms are adjustable. The race car rides on 17-inch Enkei RPF1 alloy wheels. As for brakes, the front Wilwood rotors measure 328 x 28 mm, gripped by Wilwood 6-piston race calipers, while the rear end has OEM rotors and calipers. Also, notice a pair of Borla exhaust outlets at the rear.
Inside, the HPD Civic Si FE1 features a Motec C127 120 MB dash logger, configurable display pages, a quick-disconnect OMP steering wheel, an OMP 6-point harness, an OMP electronic fire extinguisher, a 12-volt auxiliary power outlet, and more. Download the brochure here.
The race car is powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine with selectable power levels depending on the balance of performance (BoP) regulations. The engine is coupled with a close-ratio 6-speed manual gearbox. A clutch-type limited slip differential comes from Cusco. The FIA FT3-grade fuel cell can hold 16 gallons (60.5-litres) of fuel.
