The second-gen Toyota 86—which debuted last year as ‘GR86’, has got a Special Edition for the U.S. market. Limited to 860 units, the 2023 Toyota GR86 Special Edition builds on the GR86 Premium trim.
On the exterior, it gets an exclusive Solar Shift orange paint, coupled with black C-pillar decals and a rear duckbill spoiler. The special edition also gets matte-black 18-inch wheels with black center caps and black lug nuts, wrapped with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. A GR cat-back performance exhaust system with stainless steel pipes, black chrome tips and debossed GR logo round off the package.
No other changes; the GR86 is powered by a 2.4-litre (2,387 cc) 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated boxer engine that pumps out 173 kW (235 metric hp) at 7,000 rpm and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque at 3,700 rpm. The engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox that drives the rear wheels.
