Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched a sporty version of the Fortuner called the Fortuner GR-S, priced at INR 48,43,000, ex-showroom, Pan India. The Fortuner GR-S builds on the Fortuner Legender and is similar to the SW4 GR-S that is on sale in Brazil.
On the exterior, you get a sporty bodykit that is more oomph-worthy than the Legender. The bodykit is complemented with 18-inch black alloy wheels and Gazoo Racing-tuned sports suspension. And of course, you also get split-quad-LED headlights, sequential turn signals front & rear, and LED front & rear fog lights as standard.
Inside, you get GR-exclusive seats with red contrast stitching, GR-branded steering wheel, GR-branded instrument cluster and GR-branded start/stop button. Other key features include an 8-inch touchscreen, 11-speaker JBL audio system, dual-zone climate control, 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Traction Control and Vehicle Stability Control.
The Fortuner GR-S is available only with a 2.75-litre (2,755 cc) 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that develops 150 kW (204 metric hp) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque, paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Off-roading features include Downhill Assist Control and Electronic Differential Lock.
