Mumbai-based EV startup BGauss has launched BG D15i and BG D15 Pro electric scooters, priced at INR 99,999 and INR 114,999, respectively, ex-showroom. Both scooters can be booked online at BGauss’s official website for INR 499.
Both D15i and D15 Pro look identical with their retro styling, but what’s the difference between them and why the Pro costs INR 15,000 extra? I’m not entirely sure, but according to the company’s official website, the Pro comes with a VRLA battery (as a secondary battery) in addition to a 3.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and app-based smart features.
Both scooters are powered by a wheel hub motor that offers a peak output of 3100-watt (4.2 metric hp) and a peak torque of 110 Nm (81 lb-ft). Continuous output is gonna be 1500-watt (2 metric hp). The aforementioned 3.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack (removable with tools) is claimed to offer an ARAI-rated range of up to 115 km (71.5 mi). The top speed is 60 km/h (37.3 mph) in Sports mode and 50 km/h (31 mph) in Eco mode. With the standard charger, 0-100% SoC is claimed to take 5 hours and 30 minutes, and with an optional fast-charger, the time cuts down to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Other key features include LED lighting, 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, drum brakes, and 3-step adjustable rear suspension. The aforementioned app-based smart features include vehicle on/off, geo fencing, roll-over alert, health check, range alert, theft alert, and immobilization.
