It’s kinda scary how fast the EVs are engulfing the global automotive industry that it feels refreshing and delighting to see news about a pure ICE-powered vehicle, especially if it’s a hot-hatch. The one we are talking about today is the Mercedes-AMG A 35 Edition 55, which joins the G 63 Edition 55 and the GT Track Series in celebrating Mercedes-AMG’s 55th anniversary this year. There’s also the CLA 35 Edition 55 on offer, but we don’t have the photos of it yet. Let’s focus on the hot-hatch for now.
And so, as with the G 63 Edition 55, the Edition 55 here too is actually a package available on the AMG A 35 (available until November 2022), priced at €12,614 in Germany. On the exterior, buyers get to choose from cosmos black metallic or digital white metallic paint, complemented with the traditional AMG emblem graphics on the side. You also get 19-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels with a matt titanium grey paint finish and a high-sheen rim flange, and AMG-branded fuel filler cap in silver chrome.
Inside, you get AMG Performance seats upholstered in a classic two-tone red-black leather; AMG Performance steering wheel in Dinamica microfibre with Edition 55 branding and black 12 o’clock marking; AMG door sills; dark brushed aluminium accents, and AMG floor mats with Edition 55 branding. Rounding off the package is a customized AMG indoor car cover.
The A 35 is powered by a 225 kW (306 metric hp) 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine. Read more here.
