Three-time British Rally Champion and Bond stunt driver Mark Higgins is participating in the 2022 Bowler Defender Challenge, specifically in the North Wales leg, on March 26, with a special, rally-prepped Defender 90. Also, the year 2022 marks the 60th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise, which means the Defender has to wear a special livery as well.
The black-painted one-off Defender is contrasted with a rather large 007 60th logo on the roof and sides. The tailgate and the hood feature the names of all the Bond movies, again, in gold.
Other enhancements include 18-inch Bowler wheels shod with all-terrain tires, and a bespoke suspension design with modified subframes, new springs and unique turrets for increased stiffness.
The rally-prepped Defender 90 is powered by the P300 Ingenium powertrain (300 PS 2.0L petrol) combined with a sports exhaust system. It also features a host of safety modifications, including a full roll cage and enhanced cooling for the engine and transmission.
