Tata Motors has launched dual-clutch automatic variants of the Altroz hatchback, with prices starting at INR 8.10 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Branded as ‘DCA’ as opposed to a more familiar term DCT, the transmission comes paired with a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine and not on the turbocharged petrol unit, but the latter might be in the works.
Trim | ex-Delhi prices (INR) |
Altroz XM+ DCA | 8,09,900 |
Altroz XT DCA | 8,59,900 |
Altroz XT #Dark DCA | 9,05,900 |
Altroz XZ DCA | 9,09,900 |
Altroz XZ (O) DCA | 9,21,900 |
Altroz XZ+ DCA | 9,59,900 |
Altroz XZ+ #Dark DCA | 9,89,900 |
Tata Motors has made some bold claims on this 6-speed wet-dual-clutch transmission, including marrying it with machine learning (ML) technology to get the best performance out of it based on the driving conditions, and a self-healing mechanism that clears out the dust. Another highlight is an Auto Park lock function that automatically engages the park mode if the driver forgets and gets out of the car.
As the above list suggests, the Altroz DCA will be a part of the #Dark range besides being available in Downtown Red, Arcade Grey, Avenue White and Harbour Blue colours.
The N/A petrol engine offers 63 kW (86 metric hp) and 113 Nm (83 lb-ft) of torque.
